Be more, do more and inspire others to follow—Be a Graduate Advocate today! The ultimate success of southern Nevada—for youth and the larger region—is inexorably tied to raising the graduation rate. Anyone can be a graduate advocate and any effort you can provide—however modest or ambitious—will positively impact our youth as we strive to Graduate All Ready for Life while we also elevate the economic viability of our region. It’s a win-win for all.
Mentor one of the 7,500 high school seniors who will benefit from a positive role model who believes in them and will coach them through their final credits to graduate. Real results in real time—your commitment will be measured by the increase in graduation rates at the end of this school year.
Support the Clark County School District through the School-Community Partnership Program, which connects business and community resources with school resources to enrich the educational experience and increase student achievement. Projects include e-mentoring or the Stay in School Mentoring Project, where adult mentors provide guidance to middle school students at risk of dropping out.
Provide career awareness and work experience opportunities (job shadows, internships, and summer jobs, among others)
Donate – No amount is too small or large. For example, $50 will pay for a background check and training materials to bring a much-needed mentor on board. For just $120, students can experience a full–day weekend boot camp to prepare them to take proficiency exams while they experience valuable social interaction.
